Disney Vacation Club has announced that the developer price per point for DVC at Animal Kingdom Villas will be increasing in April 2012 by four percent. This marks the second price increase this year alone! The release states that the price will increase to $130. per DVC point, and the increase is scheduled to take effect on April 24.
This release also announced a creative new incentive for buyers who purchase directly from Disney Vacation Club rather than purchasing a DVC points contract on the resale market, which effectively reduced the developer pricing by twenty percent. For each one hundred DVC points purchased, Disney will gift an additional twenty Disney Vacation Club points.
So- basically what this all means is that Disney Vacation Development has increased their base price, but created a limited time incentive that will effectively reduce the buyer's DVC acquisition price by a total of sixteen percent..
Confused? Me too... But, then again I can't think of a better way to increase prices!
